I never really understood the attraction of Europe.  To me, it had always seemed like a land mass of different countries trying to exist as one, but not totally wanting their sole independence from one another.  I have heard those nasty rumors about Parisians being rude people, especially to those of us that travel from the United States, and often thought this is where I want to spend any time on a vacation?  If the food is so good in Europe, another rumor told to me from people who have traveled there, then why are so many people so thin?  Rumors are just that, rumors – and whether we choose to debunk them or take them to heart, the real truth lies way beneath the surface.

Cruising, I would dare to say, for the most part has been reserved for the experienced traveler.  Those among us that enjoy, for all intents and purposes, a different way to vacation – a hotel on water that brings you a bit of the unknown at every stop.  Depending on which side of the spectrum you lie on, this may be a positive or negative – but if you’re only measuring whether to cruise based solely on the year you were born, you might be missing out on something.

Planning any vacation is a time consuming activity.  After coming to some consensus as to the location, one must start planning out where to stay, what to do, and, on occasion, who to go along with.  I am quite fortunate in that when my vacation time hits the calendar; my travel is already made for me.  I, on most levels, require some coaxing to get me to do most things – and planning a vacation, along with washing dishes, is number one of things that I would mush rather delegate to others.
